Please join the Association of Americans for Civic Responsibility (AACR) for its Seventh Annual Roundtable Conference on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at the Paul Greenberg House, Syracuse University, 2301 Calvert Street, in Washington, D.C. 20008.
The half-day conference, entitled “Tocqueville’s America: 175 Years Later,” will feature four topic discussion sessions led by expert panelists in the fields of technology, political science, civil rights and immigration. Attendees from previous conferences have included representatives and leaders from small and medium size businesses, academia and public policy organizations.
This year’s attendees will explore the lasting legacy of Alexis de Tocqueville’s 1835 masterpiece, Democracy in America … and insights from its rich pages that still resonate even into the first decade of the 21st century. The conference will examine a changing American society as reflected in the 2010 census with Tocqueville's vision in mind.
